Remain focused, avoid unwholesome activities – Babalola urges customs personnel

ACG Ifueko Babalola, the retiring Zonal Coordinator, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone “B” Kaduna has urged personnel to remain focused, work diligently, and avoid unwholesome activities that could tarnish the image and that of the service.

Babalola made the call in an exclusive interof her retirement on Friday.

She particularly cautioned customs personnel against laziness and compromise, adding that they must at all times protect the interest of the country.

Babalola also urged the management of the service to prioritise officers’ welfare to ensure optimal performance.

”Giving priority to the welfare of personnel will push the personnel to be more committed to the job and ensure optimal performance.

”I did my best in the discharge of my responsibilities”, adding that she felt fulfilled as she retires from public service.

She highlighted her contributions, particularly in the human resources department, where she assisted in resolving cases of officers and reinstating those cleared of offences.

She emphasised on her passion for helping people, especially women and expressed gratitude to her husband for his understanding and support throughout her career, as well as to her colleagues and superiors for their cooperation.

Reflecting on her achievements, Babalola cited facilitating the reinstatement of over 50 individuals and her problem-solving role as significant milestones.

She urged public officers to strive leave positive impact wherever they serve.

According to her, the retirement marks the culmination of a dedicated career characterised by commitment to duty and compassion towards colleagues.(NAN)
