Gwandara association elects national leadership urges unity, cultural, educational development

The Gwandara Development Educational and Cultural Association (GWADECA), has elected new national executives, with a call to its people to promote unity, cultural and educational development.
Aluta News reports that the leadership is to pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
The election, which was conducted at the palace of the Emir of Karshi, Nasarawa State, Prof. Sani Mohammed Bako, on Saturday, was attended by several traditional rulers and political chieftains.
The Emir charged the new leadership to continue to promote issues that would unite the Gwandara people and ensure their progress and development.
The first class traditional ruler, also emphasised the essence of the association, which he noted, was to promote unity and togetherness among members.
Earlier, the Member representing Sanga, Jema,a Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr Daniel Amos, commended the Gwandara tribe and communities for being peaceful and accommodating to other ethnic groups.
Amos assured the association that he would emulate Sen. Tanko Almakura, the former Governor of Nasarawa State, who supported the development and cultural advancement of Gwandara people
Also Speaking, the newly elected President of GWADECA, Mr John Mamman expressed gratitude to the emir, for putting in place the machinery for peaceful and credible election.
Mamman also pledged to work tirelessly, and in partnership with other members of his executive, in achieving the objectives of the association.
Aluta News reports that Gwandara people are predominantly in three states in Nigeria, which include Nasarawa, Kaduna, Niger and Federal Capital Territory, ( FCT) Abuja.
Other newly elected officials of the association are; Barrister Ibrahim Salisu, Barrister Musa Hussein, Prof. Umar Gurku, Mr Tom Bulus, Malam Hamza Halidu, Hajiya Habiba Ibrahim, Mr John Mamman, Alhaji Musa Makama and Alhaji Gambo Haruna.
