The Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS, has tasked Nigerians to pay their taxes as and when due to enable the service deliver on it’s mandate.
The FIRS Chairman, Mr Mohammed Nami made the call at the inauguration and handing over of the new 1.6 kilometre Road and Street Solar Light provided by the Service behind Police Mobile Quarters by Prison Quarters Tunga, Chanchaga LGA.
Mr Nami said the project which was part of FIRS corporate social responsibility was aimed at easing the movement of the benefiting community and complementing government’s efforts in the provision of infrastructure to the people.
The Chairman FIRS Mr Nami represented by the Coordinating Director in the Service Mr Mohammed Lawal Abubakar reminded the people that to provide more of such projects it becomes Imperative for all to pay their dues.
The Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development Engineer Abubakar Salisu appreciated the FIRS for the gesture and called for more Federal presence in terms of roads development in the State.
In their separate remarks on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Chairman of the Community, Ahmed Bala Yaro Sabo and the Women Leader in the Area Talatu El-Yakub said the FIRS deserved commendation for the project and pledged to safeguard new road and the street lights from vandalism.
One of the Highlight of the event was conducting the FIRS Chairman Mr Mohammed Nami round the adjoining streets that made up the 1.6 kilometre Road project.
