Osun Govt. unveils new head coach for Osun United FC

The Osun State Government has unveiled Seye Ajayi as the new Head Coach for the state-owned male football team,  Osun United Football Club.

Mr Rotimi Dunmoye, General Manager, Osun State Sports Council, while unveiling the new Head Coach on Monday in Osogbo, reiterated government’s seriousness about developing  sports in the state.

Dunmoye urged stakeholders to always support the team to enable it to excel and move to the next level.

“We are glad to have this versatile coach in the fold. He will make his experience count, no doubt.

“The mandate before him is to give us promotion ticket and see how it goes afterwards,” he said.

The newly unveiled coach promised to give young and enterprising players enough chance to prove their worth.

He said it was a privilege to work with the state government in achieving its set targets concerning football development.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ajayi,  who played for Shooting Stars and Julius Berger FC before joining other foreign clubs, was a CAF Cup winner with 3SC in 1992.

He bagged ‘CAF C’ coaching license in 2015 and has attended series of coaching seminars both home and abroad.

Ajayi also worked with Jofac FC Lagos, Rising Stars Abuja, Ascend FC Abuja, Amadin and Premier FC, also based in Abuja.

Meanwhile, players and officials of Osun United are currently on mandatory election break after weeks of rigorous screening exercise but are expected to return for regular playing activities on March 1.
