The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has called on the depositors of Fortune International Bank in-liquidation to come for their verification.

The Corporation in its official Twitter handle on Monday said they were in the process of paying the insured sum and liquidation dividends to depositors of the bank.

The Corporation advised the eligible depositors to contact the representatives of the Director, Claims Resolution Department in any of their zonal offices.

It listed the locations of the offices where depositors could make contacts to include Lagos, Enugu, Bauchi, Benin, Ilorin, Kano, Sokoto and Yola.

The NDIC said the depositors could also visit its website on www.ndic.gov.ng to download the verification form.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on Dec. 21, 2020, the NDIC began to liquidate 42 microfinance banks (MFBs) across the country.

The liquidation exercise followed the revocation of their licences by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

NAN reports that in 2018, the CBN revoked the operating licences of about 153 MFBs and six Primary Mortgage Banks (PMBs).
