The Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ) has expressed sadness over the sudden passing of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration of the Benue State University (BSU), Professor Armstrong Adejor.

The group in a statement on Tuesday, signed by its president, Dr. Anule Emmanuel described the death of one of the state’s finest academics as a rude shock and commiserated with the Benue state government, and the Idoma nation on the loss.

“Benue and indeed Nigeria has lost a colossus and a rare gem, and an astute professor of History.

“Members of CBJ wish to commiserate with the Benue State Government, the Benue State University, the Idoma nation, and the immediate family of the late professor over this loss,” the statement said.

The Idoma-born Professor died Friday January 20th, 2023 after a brief illness.

“We recall professor Adejor’s scholarly contribution to the CBJ Annual Lecture Series where he distinguished himself as an excellent resource academic advocating for better governance approaches in Benue.

“Professor Adejor will be remembered for his huge contributions to knowledge, his numerous wise counsels to students and leaders, and his exemplary lifestyle of simplicity and discipline. He will surely be missed”.
