Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Benue state for 2023 general elections, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has called on all Benue people home and in the diaspora to be optimistic of year 2023, saying the year will be a year of fulfillment.
He said the people should be mindful that the year will offer them the opportunity to decide whether to liberate themselves from the shackles of vicious deceit, maladministration, underrepresentation, and gang raping of economy or to continue wallowing in same.
In a message of felicitation at New Year to Benue people, Alia also charges the people to consistently combine prayers with legitimate democratic actions to make decisions that will be beneficial to them and the generations yet unborn.
This is contained in a statement by Mr Kula Tersoo,Director Communications Alialization Alia/Ode Campaign Organization on Sunday in Makurdi,Benue State.
“You owe your children and the generation yet unborn a compulsory duty to redeem and veer Benue to the right paths and restore her lost glories.
“The first step towards this redemptive direction is to make a democratic choice of leadership that is already presented before you. Your wise decision shall be solemnly needed in this year”, he said.
Calling on the people to unite and always ensure peace reign supreme, Alia insisted that peaceful coexistence is the key for development of a people.
He further urged the people of the state to always consider and value Benue and family ties first, adding that it is needless to allow partisanship to cause enmity and divide friendships and family ties.
Alia, who ended his message by pledging that “Benue must be great again”, also wishes the people of the state a happy and prosperous New Year.
