Rev. Festus Oniyide, the Regional Director and Overseer of the Apostolic Faith Church Abuja has harped on the need for increased evangelism, soul winning and being heavenly minded.
He made the remainder during the church’s 2022 Christmas Concert tagged” Peace to All Men “.
According to him these were necessary things to do to earn God’s reward as work-force in God’s Vineyard.
He added that such acts fastened unanswered prayers and turnaround we yearn especially as the nation faces a lot of challenges.
The cleric highlighted being born again and Holy Spirit filled, teamwork , being heavenly minded, discipline, obedience, commitment and humility, as some of the things to do add to working for God to earn rewards from Him.
He further said that there must be total commitment in your service. God does not require your interest but your commitment.
According to the Pastor there are earthly and heavenly rewards for devoted workers in the house of God; of which the former includes, fame, respect and honour, adequate supply and provisions, promotions and victories.
” While heavenly rewards include crown of life, imperishable crown, crown of rejoicing, crown of righteousness and crown of glory.
” God have always been with us, I am praying that he continues to lead us in whatever program we do.
” Winning souls for the kingdom of God, is our aim in the apostolic faith, and that is why we organize these programs with the purpose of winning soul for God.
We pray that by the grace of God, we may not relent in our efforts in the service to Christ.
On the forth coming general elections,the cleric said he was praying that all Nigerians should remain calm.
“Nobody should instigate any riot anywhere and I urge us and the youths most especially, that we should go there, cast our votes and return home,peacefully,” he said.
Alban Igwe, a minister at the headquarters church in Lagos urged
Nigerians to still have hope in this time of struggling.
” At a time like this, we should be looking up not down. If you look at the scriptures you will derive a lot of comfort.
” The bible says early in the morning will I cry unto God, and I will look up. If people start their day and life with prayer and they look up, there is always a miracle, we belief that God is going to reset Nigeria.
Adejoro Edward, one of the choir leaders of apostolic faith church Abuja said praising God was compulsory even with what was happening around our country everyday, the word of God said that with everything we should give thanks.
He urged Christians to use the period if Christmas to remember what the lord have done in our lives and replace all the bad things that have happened in our lives with happiness.
Kolade Omoyola a
member of the church said the significance of Christmas was a time to remember when God gave us his only begotten son to die for us.
” I see this period as a time of sharing and those who have, should give those who do not have, it is also a time of meeting together among families.
“This is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation.
” Carol is a time of joy and it can foster unity because when you are happy, the happiness extends to others, so I believe that this time is a time of unity, we forget tribe, and our problems,it is a time of joy, togetherness and happiness,”he said.
