Why I want to succeed as governor-Engineer Sule

Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has said he wants to succeed as governor in order to translate the successes he achieved while working in the organized private sector.

Engineer Sule made this known when he hosted newly elected members of the state executive council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the Government House, on Thursday.

According to the governor, his administration came with a prayer, “Exceeding All Expectations” as its mantra, because a lot of people did not give his administration a chance, simply because he retired from the private sector to become governor.

Engineer Sule said that explained why the administration is working hard to succeed.

He however told the party officials that his administration will not succeed without their support and cooperation, stressing the need for a synergy between the party and government.

For this reason, the governor called on the state executives of the party, to forget the past and forge ahead as a united team.

“It’s not time for you to start looking for people who didn’t support you. Just keep moving. That’s my attitude. And I learnt the attitude from people I believed succeeded in life,” he stated.

While congratulating the party officials on their success at the recently conducted state congresses, the governor appealed to them to see their new positions as an opportunity to sacrifice towards making the APC united and stronger.

He noted that, though a lot of people will not give them a chance to succeed, still they should persevere in order to prove their detractors wrong.

The governor urged the party officials to do away with their differences and to work as a team to support his administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

In his opening remarks, state APC Chairman, Dr. John Mamman, said they were at the Government House to appreciate the governor for the successes recorded during both the local government and state congresses.

The state party chairman commended the governor on his leadership style and for ensuring that peace prevails across the state.

Dr. Mamman particularly commended Engineer Sule on the feat achieved during the local government elections, adding that for the state to have peacefully conducted the council polls, was a great achievement.

He pointed out the state working committee of the APC found it necessary to visit the governor in order to show appreciation.

The state APC Chairman assured the governor of the party’s readiness to support and cooperate with his administration.
