Bandits using network from Niger Republic to attack Sokoto State

Sokoto State Member of Parliament Aminu Almustapha Gobir has said that militants are using the Nigerien mobile phone network to carry out their activities in the state.
Sokoto is one of the states that shutdown mobile phone lines in parts of the state.
The lawmaker, who represents Sabon Birni North constituency in the state assembly, told the Daily Trust that militants in Sokoto were now using Nigerien networks to communicate with each other to plot crimes.
Almustapha Gobir said he had been telephoned by Nigerien militants and threatened to attack.
It is not surprising that the militants continue to carry out attacks despite the closure of mobile phones and the sale of petrol.
