Breaking: AU-ECOSOCC inaugurates PCN Commandant to head peace & security cluster committee in Nigeria
The African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC) has inaugurated Amb. Dickson Akoh, the National Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), to head Peace and Security Cluster Committee of the Council in Nigeria.
The Inauguration was performed by Dr Tunji Asaolu, Nigerian Representative of AU-ECOSOCC on Thursday in Abuja Nigeria.
According to Dr Asaolu, AU-ECOSOCC is the organ of the African Union established to provide constant citizens engagement through mobilization of all civil society organization in Africa.
Aluta News reports that Akoh was inaugurated along with 19 other personalities as head and deputies, National Standing Committees of clusters and Eight advisers.
Akoh in his remark appreciated African Union for recognizing his national efforts, which prompted AU to saddle him with more responsibilities at the peace and security committee.
He pledged to embark on partnership with security agencies to further secure lives and property of Nigerians.
The royal father of the day, His Royal Highness Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu of Nupe and Chairman Niger State traditional council commended AU-ECOSOCC for coming down to the grassroots toward implementing some of its laudable projects.
Etsu Nupe urged the standing committee to brace up and live up to the expectations of the AU-ECOSOCC, adding that the personalities inaugurated today were no doubt credible men and women in the society.
The royal father prayed almighty God to guide them in discharging their responsibilities.
