Anniversary: Nasarawa Speaker preaches unity, peaceful co- existence

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi,has urged the people of the state and Nigerians to live in peace, unity and tolerate one another for development to thrive.

This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna,and made available to newsmen in Lafia on Tuesday.

Abdullahi made the call while fecilitateting with Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Aliyu Ogah Onawo,as he clocked 17 years on his ancestral throne on Tuesday.

He said that the importance of peace to societal development could not be overemphasized, hence the need for the call.

” Peace is priceless and necessary requirement for the development of every society.

” Let us all continue to embrace peace irrespective of our affiliations in our interest and for the overall development of the state and the country,” he said.

The statement also quoted the speaker as saying that the first class traditional ruler had contributed greatly in championing the cause of unity, peace and progress of the state and the country.

He acknowledged the giant contributions of the traditional ruler to societal development while praying God to give him more good health, long life and wisdom in defending the cause of his people, the state and the nation.

He called on the people of Doma and the state to continue to give the Andoma the necessary support and prayers to enable him to succeed.

” I call on the people of Doma and the state to give our royal father the necessary support and prayers to enable him to build on the solid foundations he has laid, so far,” the speaker said.

He said Ogah Onawo is a father whom has the zeal and passion for peace and progress of his people, the state and the country.
