Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi, Minister of State for Science and Technology, has given support to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in Nasarawa by presenting science kits to the state government.
This is contained in a statement by Irondi Ifeoma, for Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, on Thursday in Abuja.
The statement said that Abdullahi presented two science equipment and 10 desktop systems on Thursday in his office in Abuja as a gesture of support for STEM education in the state.
It stated that the Minister remarked that the presentation was in fulfilment of the earlier promise made to science schools in the state.
The Minister said that the equipment was meant to support students in science education and boost their knowledge in science, technology and innovation.
He pledged that the Ministry, through one of its agencies, the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), would also training teachers and students on computer technology and appreciation.
He called on the Nasarawa state government to ensure that the equipment was protected, distributed and utilised effectively to enhance students’ capacities.
Responding, Mohammed Bala, Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, Science and Technololgy, commended the minister for the gesture.
He said that the items would be distributed accordingly and effectively utilised by the students of the state.
