NNL: Niger Tornadoes FC defeat Kebbi United 1-0

Niger Tornadoes Football Club (FC) of Minna on Saturday defeated visiting Kebbi United FC of Birnin Kebbi 1-0 in the ongoing 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL).
The match was played at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.
In the first half of the game Niger Tornadoes players mounted pressure on the visiting club with accurate passes of the ball.
While the Kebbi United players doubled up with same accurate passes and skillful play entertaining the few spectators.
The efforts of both sides yielded no goal as the first half of the match ended in goalless.
Peter Momoh wearing jersey number 20 for Niger Tornadoes scored a penalty kick against the Kebbi United 21 minutes into the second half of the match.
Referee awarded the penalty after a defender of the visiting team brought down a Tornadoes attacker in the vital goal area of the Kebbi United side.
Usman Salihu, Head Coach, Kebbi United said that in spite of the lose to Tornadoes, it was a good game.
“It is was a beautiful game because my boys played accordding to instructions, but the home team gave us a good fight because they are also a good side,” he said.
Salihu said that his players changed their tactics in the second half of the match alleging biassed officiating by the referee.
“You can see that the tactics paid off,” he said.
Coach Bala Mohammed, Technical Adviser, Niger Tornadoes said that the visiting club played well.
“Kebbi United is a good side, you can see that they gave us a good fight in the pitch but in the end we won the game because were better.
“We are happy that we got the maximum three points. It has given us a comfortable lead on the league table,” he said.
