Twitter users and influencers launches #StopKillingNortherners’ campaign following the outbreak of violence in Oyo state.

The Shasha market in Ibadan, Oyo capital witnesses violence attack against Hausa traders by Yoruba hoodlums

more than 40 shops were looted and destroyed by the hoodlums on Friday in Oyo

This sad development led to
shutting down of the market and imposition of a curfew in the area

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State also directed the immediate closure of Shasha market indefinitely following this violent attack

Spokesman of the Governor Taiwo Adisa, said in a statement on Saturday.

“The governor has also approved the imposition of curfew on Shasha. It will run from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.

“Residents of the affected area are enjoined to go about their legitimate businesses within the hours stipulated by the law.

“Anyone caught disrupting the peace of the community will be made to face the wrath of the law.”

Despite the directive from the chief security officer of the state, there were reports of clashes in the Oyo capital.

Twitter users especially from northern region have called for an end to violence perpetrated against Hausa resident in the south west
