Balarabe Musa: Nigeria has loss a great son- Tumsah
Former Interim National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Balarabe Musa, former executive governor of old Kaduna State.
In a condolence message on Thursday in Abuja, Tumsah, described the deceased as a very dedicated, hardworking and sincere politician for whom he has deepest respect for.
Tumsah, who was the Vice Chairman of the defunt Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative, said with Balarabe Musa’s passage, Nigeria had lost a great son who gave his best for the good of all.
The APC Chieftain said the Second Republic governor maintained a good conscience in a country where such virtue was very rear.
Tumsah also described late Musa as a sincere, committed patriot and statesman who held fast to people-oriented progressive ideals throughout his political life.
Tumsah said late Balarabe Musa would be sorely missed by all Nigerians, who have diligently followed his antecedents as a voice for the voiceless.
The APC chieftain affirmed that Balarabe left a bold footprint on Nigeria’s democracy, and his role in promoting good governance and development will always be remembered and appreciated by posterity.
” I am profoundly shocked by the sudden death of Alhaji Balarabe Musa, a man who possessed one of the highest qualities of integrity throughout the course of his political life.
” I sympathise with friends, family, government and people of Kaduna State over the demised of one of the most respected politicians in Nigeria, who lived and die for the masses.”
Musa, who died at age 84, was the National Leader of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and a highly-respected politician.
He was an accounts clerk and a school teacher and held various managerial positions related to accountancy from 1960 to 1976, while studying at different colleges in London to gain additional qualifications.
He was elected governor of the old Kaduna State in 1979 on the platform of the PRP, a party founded by late Malam Aminu Kano.
