Emir of Nasarawa preaches enhance mutual relationship between Federal Polytechnic, host community
The Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril has emphasised the need for enhance mutual relationship between the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa and all communities surrounding the institution.
Jibril gave the advice when he hosted a meeting to further strengthen harmonious relationship between the host community and the management of the Polytechnic, at his place on Monday in Nasarawa town, Nasarawa State.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the management of the polytechnic was led in the meeting by the Rector, Dr Abdullahi Alhassan Ahmed.
He noted that management of the institution needs the support of the host community to succeed, adding that maintaining harmonious relationship between the polytechnic and the community was very key to the develoment of the institution in all ramifications.
According to the monarch, there is no alternative to peace and no society will achieve meaningful development without peace and tranquility.
Usman used the occasion to enjoined the host community to corporate with the leadership of the polytechnic and support its efforts to make the institution home of academic excellent.
The emir also urged the host community to assist the Polytechnic to provide effective security for students and secure all its properties.
The royal father also admonished the management of the Polytechnic carry the host community alone, especially in offering admission and employment opportunities to members of the community who have all the requirements.
He advised the management of the institution to continue to create programmes that would enhance academic standard and qualitative lecture delivery.
Responding, the rector, Ahmed, pledged the institution’s continued support to the host community as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
