The National President of AUPCTRE, Comrade Benjamin Anthony and the FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Maradun, led the staff during the celebration and prayer session at the Tribunal’s headquarters in Abuja.

Several testimonies were made by members of staff, alleging that the former chairman was a tyrant and autocratic leader who ran the tribunal like a personal estate.

They accused him of poor workers welfare, exhibiting infractions, highhandedness,
reneging on several agreements reached with the union, as well other allegations bothering on corruption.

He was investigated by several panels set up by the Federal Government as a result of the petitions, which eventually led to his sack.

Anthony thanked Buhari for heeding to the call for sack of Akoh.

He urged the president to extend this laudable deed by beaming his searchlight on other corrupt officials manning MDA’ s to sustain the anti-graft war and ensure its success.

He noted that the union was faced with many litigations in court with such CEO’s who are fighting back because of its determination to rid the system of corrupt managers and its zero tolerance for corruption.

He said AUPCTRE would continue the anti curruption fight to salvage Nigeria for the collective good of all

The Vice Chairman, FCT Council, Comrade Diepribo Briggs, said that the entire staff of IST were thanking God, president Buhari, the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and permanent secretary of the ministry, for the timely removal of Akoh from office.

He said IST staff had set aside Sept. 24, of every year as a day to mark the end of the dark era of the former Chairman.

Another speaker branch chairman of IST AUPCTRE, Mr Ikechukwu Ogu, said every staff of the tribunal was thanking God for liberation from tyranny, oppression, persecution, misrule, impunity, unbridled corruption, unrepentant abuse of office, disdain and violation of extant laws, rules and regulations, among others, personified by Mr. Idoko-Akoh.

”We glorify GOD and commend President Muhammadu Buhari for relieving IST, its staff, and the Nigerian capital market and economy of the huge burden brought about by Idoko-Akoh’s stewardship.

”It was a divine intervention. All staff in the Zonal Offices of IST in Lagos, Enugu, Kano, and Port Harcourt, are part of today’s celebration.

Before his sack, Mr. Akoh had turned IST into his private outfit, oppressed any staff who advised him against corruption and misrule, and on compliance with laid down rules and regulations.

”His sack was timely because he had perfected plans to sack 89 staff for no just cause, to be replaced with his kinsmen/women and cronies.

”Had he remained in office, the IST would have wound up,” Ogu stated.
