Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inaugurated the K1000 Grassroots Mobilisation Initiative’s organisational structure and campaign office to strengthen grassroots engagement, improve party coordination and enhance mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The Governor performed the inauguration on Sunday. The initiative was established by the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Faisal Kaita, to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) structure across the local government.
Governor Radda commended Hon. Kaita for his commitment to grassroots mobilisation, describing the impressive turnout as evidence of the importance of taking political engagement directly to the people.
“I commend Hon. Faisal Kaita for organising this event and demonstrating his commitment to grassroots mobilisation. The impressive turnout shows the importance of taking political engagement directly to the people,” he said.
The Governor emphasised that effective political organisation begins at the grassroots, urging APC members and supporters to sustain unity, cooperation and peaceful engagement.
“Unity is essential to our collective success. I urge our party members and supporters to work together, respect one another and maintain the peace and cooperation required to move our party and communities forward,” he added.
Recalling activities marking Katsina State’s 39th anniversary, he noted that Hon. Faisal Kaita was among the distinguished indigenes recognised for their contributions to the state.
He commended the Commissioner for maintaining close ties with his community and using his public office to support development.
The Governor assured the people of Kaita that his administration would continue to implement policies and programmes to improve their welfare, particularly in education, healthcare and agriculture.
He urged residents to remain law-abiding and support initiatives that promote peace, unity and sustainable development.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Hon. Faisal Kaita, said the K1000 initiative was established to strengthen the APC’s organisational structure and coordinate grassroots mobilisation across Kaita ahead of the forthcoming elections.
He explained that the structure would comprise six representatives at each polling unit, 10 members in each ward and a six-member central working committee to coordinate activities and improve communication among party members and supporters.
Hon. Kaita attributed the initiative to the development projects and interventions of the Radda administration, particularly in education, healthcare and agriculture.
He specifically highlighted the annual distribution of fertiliser to farmers as an important intervention supporting rural communities.
The Commissioner also cited the proposed railway project linking Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Katsina, noting that the planned station along the Dutsin- safe could boost commercial activities, create economic opportunities and generate employment for Kaita and neighbouring communities.
He further highlighted investments in schools and primary healthcare facilities across the local government’s wards, assuring the Governor that the initiative would pursue its objectives through structured grassroots engagement and effective coordination.
Those in attendance included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; the Executive Director of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama; members of the Katsina State Executive Council; the member representing Kaita in the State House of Assembly; political stakeholders; party members and supporters; and community representatives.
