Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said the direct allocation of statutory funds to local governments by President Bola Tinubu has strengthened grassroots governance and empowered councils to deliver development to their people.
Governor Radda stated this at the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Rally in Matazu Local Government Area, where he said the policy deserves continuity through the President’s re-election in 2027.
According to him, councils now receive their allocations directly, without deductions by the state government.
“By allowing local governments to access their allocations directly, President Tinubu has strengthened grassroots administration and empowered elected leaders to deliver development to their people. This is a policy that deserves continuity,” he said.
He said the policy has given chairmen greater financial capacity to execute projects, pay salaries and address the needs of their communities.
The Governor also commended the President for federal interventions including palliatives, financial assistance, fertiliser distribution and enhanced security support to cushion economic challenges and improve welfare.
He thanked the Member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, popularly known as Dujiman Katsina, for giving ₦50,000 each to 500 vulnerable women and for distributing motorcycles to constituents.
Speaking further, Governor Radda said his administration has delivered interventions in water supply, road construction, agriculture, education, youth development and women’s empowerment in the last three to four years.
He commended the Matazu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Shamsuddeen Muhammad Sayaya, for implementing over 200 development projects across the area.
He also disclosed that Senator Muntari Dandutse plans to reach about 30,000 beneficiaries across the 11 local government areas of Funtua Senatorial District, starting from the 27th of this month.
Governor Radda thanked party supporters, traditional rulers, community leaders, elders, women and youths for the impressive turnout, describing it as a demonstration of solidarity with the APC.
He urged residents to sustain their unity and support President Tinubu, himself and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections for continuity and consolidation of development.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, commended the people of Matazu for their turnout and warm reception.
“The massive turnout demonstrates the strength of our party and the confidence of the people in its leadership. I urge you to remain united and committed to our collective political objectives,” Dangiwa said.
He urged eligible voters to participate actively in the electoral process and vote for President Tinubu, Governor Radda and all APC candidates.
