President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s governorship bid received a major boost on Friday, as stakeholders and support groups in Toto Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, declared full support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The declaration came during a grassroots engagement tour tagged “Door to Door and Ward to Ward Mobilisation” for President Bola Tinubu, Sen. Ahmed Wadada’s governorship bid, and APC candidates in Toto LGA.
The engagement tour, which was initiated by the Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji, SAN, who doubled as the Nasarawa State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, had in attendance party leaders, women groups, youth groups and political appointees.
Speaking to newsmen, the party supporters and well-wishers from various communities and wards who converged at Umaisha said they have declared their total support for continuity of the APC Government in Nasarawa State and the country at large.
Hon. Princess Hassanna Onairo, Special Assistant to Gov. Abdullahi Sule on Women Mobilisation, said the APC-led administration’s achievements, women and youths empowerment under the leadership of President Tinubu and Gov. Sule at the State level, had made the 2027 campaign easy.
She said that despite numerous advantages the party has, the supporters and political appointees in Toto LGA would not relent in mobilising for the victory of the party in the 2027 general elections.
“This is just the beginning; we will continue to strengthen our campaign tour, engaging more women and youths in every nook and cranny of Toto LGA, the whole State by extension. Our campaign is issue-based because we have what we can campaign with,” she said.
Also speaking, an APC stalwart and ardent supporter of President Tinubu and Sen. Wadada, Hajiya Mairo Usman, said the people of Toto were ready to deliver APC from the top to the bottom.
“We, the people of Toto Local Government, are ready to deliver APC.
Whatever good thing Toto Local Government is getting, it is from APC. We get everything in abundance under APC Government,” she said.
Usman, who is a Personal Assistant to the Governor on Women Affairs, said they were ready to follow the party ward to ward and polling unit to polling unit to campaign for the victory of the party.
On his part, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Sule on Local Government Administration, Mr Abubakar Kwanaki, said Toto has never had it this good since the creation of Nasarawa State.
“When you go to Toto Local Government, you will see a lot of projects going on, like road construction executed by the APC government. There is a new ultra-modern market being constructed by the APC government,” he said.
Kwanaki noted that the lingering problem of gully erosion that had devastated the area is now being addressed, while the Keffi – Nasarawa – Toto concrete road is also ongoing, all executed by the APC government.
“So we are not lacking anything when it comes to development in Toto Local Government. The only way for us to reciprocate is by voting massively for APC come 2027,” he said.
According to him, the people of Toto will vote for President Tinubu, Sen. Wadada as Governor, Dr Faisal Shuaib as Senator, Mohammed – Al-Basheer Yerima as House of Representatives member, and Murtala Amat and Ibrahim Saad as State Assembly members.
On his part, the Chairman of G50, a political support group, based in Umaisha, Mr Abubakar Garba, said the group, which has existed since the time of Gov. Sule and worked for his emergence, has now thrown its weight behind Sen. Wadada.
“This time around, Gov. Sule has a preferred candidate, who is Sen. Wadada. As a G50 group, we give him maximum support. We will ensure that G50 creates awareness and mobilisation across Umaisha and the entire district,” he said.
Speaking with newsmen, Mr Murtala Amat, APC candidate for Toto/Gadabuke Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said the people of his constituency would work extensively for the victory of the party in the 2027 general elections.
Amat disclosed that 95 per cent of his supporters already have their voter cards and are ready to vote, adding that they would strengthen campaign and mobilisation across the state to ensure victory for President Tinubu, Gov Sule, Wadada, Faisal and all other APC candidates.
Earlier, the convener of the grassroots engagement tour, Dr Labaran Magaji, SAN, Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, who addressed the gathering, conveyed the message of Governor Abdullahi Sule and appealed for patience and unity among party supporters.
Magaji, while thanking the people of Toto for their support and mobilisation, charged the party supporters and political appointees to intensify grassroots mobilisation for the victory of the party from the top to the bottom.
He called on the people to vote for President Tinubu for continuity, Sen. Ahmed Wadada as Governor, Dr Faisal Shuaib as Senator, Mohammed Al-Basheer-Yerima as House of Representatives member, Murtala Amat and Ibrahim Saad as State Assembly members.
Magaji, while offering prayers for peace and prosperity in the area, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting youths, women and party members through empowerment initiatives and financial support to enhance their living standard.
The SSG, while on an engagement tour to Umaisha, Ugya, Shafa Abakpa, Shafa Kotto and several other communities, paid homage to Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, Ohemani of Emani, Alhaji Hussaini Kyafi, Ogwu of Shafa Kotto, Yunusa Idris and Sarkin Adadu, Umaru Musa Aguye, where he was conferred with the traditional title Sentali of Adadu.
