Comrade Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has been conferred with the prestigious political title of KAIGAMA (Field Marshal) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign following an exceptional grand reception accorded to members of the Presidential Campaign Council during their visit to Kebbi State.
It was also attributed to his dogedness and resilience in governance and political sargacity.
This was contained in a statement by Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Kebbi State Governor.
The council, led by Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar as Director General, was in the state to pay homage and seek blessings from the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar.
On arrival at the Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, the Yari-led council was received by an unprecedented mammoth crowd led by Governor Idris
At Emir’s palace, they met another crowd of traders, farmers, traditional dancers, and praise singers.
Also present were Emirs of Argungu Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, Yauri Dr. Zayyanu Abdullahi and Zuru Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III, who had insisted on joining to support the Chairman.
Senator Yari said their mission was to pay homage and solicit prayers for guidance before full campaign activities
Responding, the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar, thanked them and advised the peaceful conduct of electioneering campaigns.
At Government House, Senator Yari expressed satisfaction with what he described as an “uncommon reception,” the first of its kind since their nationwide visits to traditional rulers.
He declared that APC is deeply rooted and dominates Kebbi’s political landscape due to Governor Idris’s focused and purposeful leadership, and rated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as best performing in recent years, having transformed socio-economic development within three years and deserving another term.
Governor Idris assured the visitors that APC dominates the state due to stakeholders like Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Atiku Bagudu, Ambassador Sa’idu Nasamu Dakingari, Senator Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi and other critical stakeholders with track records of integrity, and because of impactful developmental projects that have changed the narrative of the state’s development.
He said the forthcoming campaign visit will only be a formality as the people are already waiting for 2027.
It was at this point that a member of the campaign council Senator Ali Modu Galadima Sheriff stood up and disclosed that with the approval of the Chairman of the Council he announced the conferment of the prestigious political title of KAIGAMA (FIELD MARSHAL) in kanuri tradition of the campaign, on Comrade Governor Nasir Idris in view of his demonstrated commitment and dedication to the success of the party as well as ruggedness and resilience in governance and politics.
