Abuja, Aug. 23, 2026 (NAN) C2E Sports Academy have emerged champions of the 2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Nationwide tournament after defeating Obosa Queens Football Academy 2-1 in the final at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba, in Abia.
C2E took an early lead in the 11th minute through Agnes Ohuche, before Nina Ude doubled the advantage in the 30th minute.
Obosa Queens fought back after the break, with Saidat Idowu reducing the deficit in the 47th minute.
The Edo-based side, however, could not find the equaliser as C2E held on to secure a historic 2-1 victory and the tournament’s title.
The final brought the curtain down on an impressive campaign for both teams, with C2E crowned champions and Obosa Queens finishing as runners-up.
Both finalists had earlier secured promotion to the championship division for the 2027 NWFL season.
The championship division is the second tier of the NWFL .
Meanwhile, a total of 12 teams participated in the NWFL Nationwide tournament, which is the third tier of the women’s football league structure in the country. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
