Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has restated his determination to the completion of key ongoing projects in the nation’s capital by the end of the year.
The Minister stated this on Tuesday, August 18, while on an inspection tour of ongoing Inner Southern Expressway (ISEX 2) and the Southern Parkway Road projects in the Federal Capital City, FCC.
Barr. Wike commended the contractors, CGC Nigeria Limited, for mobilizing to site, even before the release of funds, assuring them of the timely release of funds.
Describing the ISEX road project, awarded 12 years prior, as ‘very important’, the Minister said, “And I want to commend the contractor CGC. In fact, since I discussed with them, they have always been so hopeful that they will complete the job, working day and night. They are also in charge of ISEX awarded in 2014, which is 12 years now. Very important road.
“I really would want to thank Mr President for approving the complete release of the funds for the ISEX for the first phase, which will include two interchanges and take about 5 km of road. And I want to commend the contractor for having confidence in us that even though they have not been mobilized much, yet see the level of work. And that shows their commitment and belief in this administration”.
Assuring residents that the project will be completed before the end of the year, the FCT Minister thanked President Tinubu for his support for the FCT, and for releasing funds for the completion of projects, including those that were not initiated by his administration.
