Emir of Zuru mourns death of Deputy Governor, condoles Governor Idris, Emir of Yauri

The Emir of Zuru, His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami Gomo III has sent separate condolence messages to the GovernorKebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, and the Emir of Yauri, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammad Zayyanu Abdullahi, over the passing of former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu
In the messages, the Emir described the death of Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu as a great loss to the people of Kebbi South, Kebbi State, and Nigeria at large, in view of the deceased’s immense and unmeasurable contributions to the country since the era of the Northern Nigerian administration.
Referring to the late Matawallen Yauri, the Emir said he was “a thoroughly trained and experienced bureaucrat that had diligently served the former North Western State, old Sokoto State, and Kebbi State to the best of his ability.”
The Emir further stated that the late Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu “would be remembered as a rugged, heavyweight, and principled politician that had served as a bridge builder, promoting harmonious relationships and peaceful coexistence among the multi-ethnic and religious communities.”
Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil Aliyu reached the peak of the civil service as Permanent Secretary in old Sokoto State. He worked alongside distinguished public servants, including Alhaji Mamman Jega, Alhaji Isah Muhammadu Wasagu, Alhaji Idris Koko, and Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau.
Following the creation of Kebbi State, he served as the pioneer secretary to the state government and held the position under two different administrations. He later served as Federal Commissioner, representing Kebbi State at the National Population Commission before venturing into partisan politics. In 2007, he contested and won the position of Deputy Governor alongside Governor Sa’idu Nasamu Dakingari.
The late Matawallen Yauri, who hailed from Ngaski Local Government Area, died at the age of 80 at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, after a protracted illness.
The Emir prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss. He urged the family to be consoled by the public acknowledgement of the selfless services he rendered to God and humanity during his lifetime.
The late Deputy Governor was survived by a wife, Hajiya Fatima Ibrahim Aliyu, and seven children, four males and three females.
