Kebbi State Government has worryingly identified the presence of a new terror group called ‘Sai Mallam Terrorism Sect’ in Argungu a midsts the lingering menace of Lakurawas.
The Security Adviser to the State Governor, Rtd. Colonel Danladi Ribah, made this known in a goodwill message during a Town Hall meeting between the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, supervising the North West Geo-Political Zone, DIG Suleiman Muhammad Abdul, and Stakeholders in Security Affairs at the Presidential Lodge, Birnin Kebbi, on Wednesday.
Ribah expressed concern about the development, but gave an assurance that the state government was in consultations with the security Agencies to reverse the situation.
He revealed that ‘Sai Mallam’ adherents were present in multitude in Argungu, who were earlier detected in Sokoto State, but the Police there were able to contain them.
ln his remarks, DIG Suleiman Muhammad Abdul informed the gathering that security was capital extensive and intensive considering logistics, weaponry and welfare of personnel for combat readiness.
“The Police management team has presented a proposal awaiting approval, that will guarantee the sponsorship of four children each, of all fallen policemen who died in active service by the Police Force, from nursery to secondary school.
“The wellbeing of policemen and their families is of paramount importance to our incumbent Inspector-General, Olatunji Rilwan Disu”, the DIG narrated.
