Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has approved the constituted a Hajj reception committee with the Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs as Chairman.
The 20-member committee has the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice as co-chairman with Permanent Secretary, Energy, to serve as Secretary.
Other members of the committee, according to a statement by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa on Thursday, include representative of the state House of Assembly, Commissioner of Information, Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. SA SURBP, Hon. SA Women Engagement, Hon. Chairman, Sokoto South Local Government and representatives of the Police and DSS.
Others are representatives of Customs Service, Immigration, Alhaji Abubakar Assada, Alhaji Bashar Nuhu (BASHA), Alhaji Buba Mai rago, Alhaji Chika Mai Starlet, Abubakar Doctor, Yusuf Labbo and Alhaji Amiru Hamza.
According to the statement, the four terms of reference are: Organise a befitting reception for returning pilgrims, coordinate transportation of pilgrims to their various local government areas, ensure each pilgrim goes home with his or her luggage and ensure general orderliness during the collection of luggage.
