Senator Lalong secures fresh royal blessings in Langtang, Garkawa for 2027 Senate bid

More traditional rulers across Plateau South have continued to offer royal blessings to the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Simon Bako Lalong, as he seeks re-election to continue serving the people in the Senate.

Following his recent visit to the Emir of Wase, Senator Lalong continued his consultations in Langtang where he paid a courtesy visit to the Joint Tarok Traditional Council.

He was received by the Acting Ponzhi Tarok and Ponzhi Zinni, Chief Nimnan Langnim.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Lalong said he came to appreciate the sustained support, prayers, and goodwill he has continued to receive from the traditional institution and the people of Tarok land over the years.

He informed the royal father of his decision to seek re-election to the Senate and requested the blessings and support of the traditional council and the people.

Responding, the Acting Ponzhi Tarok commended Senator Lalong for what he described as quality representation and his longstanding commitment to the welfare and development of Tarok land, dating back to his tenure as Governor of Plateau State.

He appreciated the Senator for executing and facilitating several constituency projects in areas such as water supply, solar power, education, and other community interventions.

He also acknowledged Senator Lalong’s efforts in facilitating appointments for sons and daughters of Plateau South and Tarokland into various federal government agencies.

He cited the creation of the North Central Development Commission and appointment of Dr. Cyril Tsenyil as pioneer MD/CEO, Sunday Hassan as Executive Director Lower Benue River Authority, and the recent appointment of Dr. Bongfa Binfa as Rector Federal Polytechnic Nya’k-Shendam among others.

The royal father thereafter offered prayers and blessings for Senator Lalong’s success in the forthcoming elections and praised Lalong for creating more Districts in Tarokland when he was Governor.

In a vote of thanks, Managing Director/CEO North Central Development Commission Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil appreciated the Tarok Traditional Council and the people of Tarok nation for supporting Senator Lalong over the time.

He expressed optimism that the people of Tarokland will support the re-election of Senator Lalong to continue providing quality representation to the Southern Zone in the Senate.

Similarly, when Senator Lalong arrived Garkawa in Mikang Local Government Area, he was received by the Galadima on behalf of the Mwo-Ywom of Yom Nation, HRH Bashir Makama Dabup.

Addressing the palace delegation, Senator Lalong said he was in Garkawa to seek royal blessings and support for his re-election bid in order to continue serving the people of Plateau South Senatorial District in the Senate.

Responding on behalf of the royal father, the Galadima commended Senator Lalong for his numerous contributions to the development of the Yom nation through projects and people-oriented programmes.

He prayed for Senator Lalong’s success at the polls and urged him to sustain his advocacy on critical issues affecting the area, particularly the proposal to upgrade the College of Agriculture, Garkawa, into a Federal University of Agriculture.
