Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has successfully secured clearance in the screening exercise conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the party’s forthcoming primary elections.
The screening exercise, held on May 7 at the Plateau State Governors Lodge Abuja, was conducted in line with the party’s approved timetable for aspirants.
A total of 17 serving governors, including Governor Radda, appeared before the party’s screening committee.
Following a thorough review of their credentials, the committee cleared all the governors, affirming that they are “fit and proper persons” to participate in the APC primary elections and subsequently contest in the 2027 general elections under the party’s platform.
Governor Radda was particularly commended by the committee for his presentation and the completeness of his documentation. He was cleared without any reservations, having met all stipulated requirements.
The committee, after careful scrutiny, respectfully asked them to take a bow, marking the conclusion of their screening.
Chairman of the screening committee wished the governors success in the forthcoming primary elections and the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the screened governors, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for the respect accorded to them.
“We are grateful to the leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in us and the honour extended during this exercise,” he said.
He called for continued support and guidance as they prepare for the primaries and the general elections.
At the end of the exercise, certificates of clearance were presented to the governors, who were thereafter formally discharged by the party with best wishes for their political engagements ahead.
The event marks the first day of the screening exercise, with other governors expected to appear before the committee on the following day.
Governor Radda was accompanied to the screening by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal, alongside other top government officials and party stakeholders from across the state.
