Unionists Laud Comrade Anthony’s Unwavering Leadership, Maradun, Buba Praise’s AUPCTRE President’s Commitment to Workers’ Rights

The FCT Council of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) recently paid tribute to its National President, Comrade Benjamin Uyanto Anthony, for his exceptional leadership and dedication to workers’ welfare.
The union leaders made the tribute during a special thanks-giving service, held to celebrate Comrade Anthony’s journey and God’s faithfulness in his life on Sunday in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Aliyu Maradun, described Comrade Benjamin as an astute leader who has mentored many unionists in the FCT. Comrade Maradun highlighted Comrade Benjamin’s remarkable ability to steer the union through turbulent times, taking over leadership during a particularly challenging period and successfully stabilizing the organization. “He took over at a very turbulence period, and he was able to stabilize the union,” Comrade Maradun said.
Comrade Buba, speaking on behalf of the Federal Zone of the Union, echoed these sentiments, praising Comrade Benjamin’s upright and unassuming leadership style, which has fostered stability, accountability, and transparency within the union. He also congratulated Comrade Benjamin on his achievements, saying his leadership has been a game-changer for AUPCTRE.
Anthony leadership has been marked by a steadfast commitment to the struggle for the rights of the downtrodden workers. His unwavering personality and uncompromising stance have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, cementing his position as a stalwart of the union
His colleague Mr Ponfa Wuye from Course 47 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPS) has extended warm congratulations to Comrade Anthony Benjamin, commending his outstanding representation of the labour union during their studies. On behalf of all his course mates, he wished Comrade Anthony continued success and prosperity, acknowledging his dedication and commitment to the labour movement.
Aluta News reports that Comrade Anthony is a seasoned Nigerian unionist and the current National President of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE). He has held various leadership roles within the union, including Chairman of the FCT Council and National Auditor of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC). Comrade Anthony’s leadership has been marked by a strong commitment to workers’ rights and welfare, navigating the union through challenging times and achieving significant victories .
A native of Sanga Local Government, Kaduna State, Comrade Anthony has a strong academic background, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Abuja, as well as Master’s degrees in Conflict Security & Development and Industrial Sociology. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN). Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars focused on labor relations, trade union administration, and leadership .
Under Comrade Anthony’s leadership, AUPCTRE has solidified its position as one of the top affiliates of the NLC, advocating tirelessly for workers’ rights and interests. He has emphasized the importance of training and development opportunities for workers, equipping them with skills for evolving job markets.
