Abuja – In a passionate appeal, Ambassador Abdul Danbature has urged former Head of State General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) to redirect funds from his recently launched memoir, “A Journey in Service”, towards empowering Northern youths.
Speaking exclusively to Aluta News, Danbature emphasized that the region’s young people need more than just libraries; they require job opportunities, skills training, and a chance to build their futures.
“The proceeds from IBB’s book should be invested in our youths, not just in building libraries,” Danbature said. “We need to create opportunities for them to acquire skills, start businesses, and become employable. This is the only way we can ensure a brighter future for our region and the country at large.”
Danbature’s proposal includes establishing companies that would create job opportunities for Northern youths, providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. This approach aligns with various initiatives already underway in Nigeria, such as skill acquisition programs, entrepreneurship training, and national service schemes.
As the country continues to grapple with unemployment and economic challenges, Ambassador Danbature’s call to action serves as a reminder that empowering young people is key to building a brighter future for Nigeria.
“History will honor leaders not only for preserving the past but for building the future,” Danbature concluded. “Let’s make history by empowering the next generation through opportunity and action.”
