IKENGA UGOCHINYERE: SUPREME COURT RULES IN FAVOUR OF GOV FUBARA, OKO JUMBO REMAINS SPEAKER

The Rivers State government has secured a significant victory at the Supreme Court, with the apex court ruling in favor of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s camp.

According to Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, spokesperson for the Opposition Lawmakers Coalition, the court’s decision was predicated on the withdrawal of an appeal against the 2024 budget, which has already been fully executed.

Ugochinyere clarified that contrary to misinformation circulating in certain quarters, no Supreme Court judgment has been delivered against Governor Fubara. Furthermore, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Oko Jumbo, remains in charge and control of the legislature.

This development is a significant boost to the Rivers State government, demonstrating the legitimacy of Governor Fubara’s administration and reinforcing the stability of the state’s legislative arm.
