Federal Civil Servants Miss Buhari’s Administration Amidst Unrelenting Hardship Under Tinubu

As Nigeria marks another day, federal civil servants can’t help but reminisce about the Buhari administration. The reason is simple: they’re struggling to survive under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. High inflation and delayed salary payments have become the norm, leaving many to wonder if the current administration truly cares about their well-being.

During Buhari’s tenure, salaries were paid on the 25th of every month, a consistency that brought a sense of security and stability. However, under Tinubu’s leadership, that reliability has vanished. Today, November 11, 2024, October salaries remain unpaid, with no explanation or reassurance from the government.

The labour union, led by Ajaero, seems gagged, leaving workers feeling helpless and hopeless. In desperation, they’ve turned to their faith, putting their trust and hope in God to see them through these trying times.

This stark contrast between the two administrations has sparked concerns about the government’s priorities. Are the needs of civil servants being neglected? Is the current economic hardship being taken seriously?

As the days turn into weeks, and the weeks into months, federal civil servants continue to bear the brunt of the country’s economic challenges. Their patience wears thin, and their trust in the government dwindles.

Will President Tinubu’s administration heed the cries of its civil servants and take decisive action to alleviate their suffering? Only time will tell.
