President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally approved the appointment of Mr. Abdullahi Suleiman Ango as the Mandate Secretary for the newly established Youth Development Secretariat within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). This appointment represents a significant milestone in the administration’s commitment to prioritizing youth development and empowerment in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Youth Development Secretariat will function as a comprehensive administrative structure, responsible for coordinating youth-related matters in the FCT. Additionally, it will serve as a key platform for implementing youth policies and programs, as well as providing training opportunities for skill acquisition, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.

Mr. Abdullahi Suleiman Ango brings a rich blend of experience and passion for youth advocacy to his new role as Mandate Secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat. His extensive background in public administration and contributions to youth empowerment initiatives make him an exceptional fit for this position.

Notably, Mr. Ango has held several relevant positions, including:

– FCT Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (2018-present)
– Member, Presidential Grassroots Independent Campaign Council
– Director, Directorate of Youth and Mobilization, FCT Senatorial Elections
– Publicity Secretary, Arewa Youths for Tinubu/Shettima
– Member, FCT Universal Basic Education Board (2023)

A native of Kuje in the FCT, Mr. Ango holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, a Master’s degree in International Relations from Nasarawa State University, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Peace and Conflict Studies from Nasarawa State University.
