Clem Agba, APC governorship aspirant meets EDO APC Diaspora Council
By Bridget Ikyado
Prince Clem Agba, a former Minister of Budget and National Planning, and a governorship aspirant in Edo State, has met with the Edo APC Diaspora Community to seek their support for his candidature.
Agba, who was a two-time Commissioner in Edo State is seeking the support of stakeholders to emerge as the sole governorship candidate of the APC in Edo state.
According to Comrade Victoria Emike,
Publicity Secretary, EDO-APC DIASPORA COUNCIL, the aspirant had an initial meeting with the APC community in the Diaspora at the North American residence of the Director General of Edo APC Diaspora Council, Dr Legend Asuelime.
During the meeting, Asuelime introduced the aspirant to other diaspora influencers and some APC ward leaders in Edo state.
Agba used the opportunity to share his vision and sought for the support of the Edo APC Diaspora community to realise his ambition.
The aspirant articulated his vision and ideas for Edo state, and made presentation of how he plan to maximise the potentials of the state for the good of all, if elected Governor.
He also identified the problems that have plagued the state for decades, including under the present administration of Governor Obaseki, and proffered intelligently researched and pragmatic solutions to the problems.
The DG, Legend Asuelime, on his part, expressed pleasure with the aspirant’s’ ability to communicate his ideas, and his depth of understanding of governance.
Asuelime said though they have no mandate to endorse a candidate, their perception of Prince Clem Agba was positive.
“This is because his presentation and response to questions posed to him by attendees were answered with grit and precision.
“He appeals to the attendees as someone with the capacity to govern a complex state as Edo. His ideas are very appealing and practicable.
After the meeting in North America, the aspirant will proceed to Europe for further engagement with members of the Edo APC Diaspora Community.
Meanwhile, the Edo APC Diaspora community has urged the party leaders and delegates to nominate a credible candidate that can win the governorship election and push the state towards sustainable development.
We suggest that aspirants without similar capacity as Dr Agba be prevailed to step down at the appropriate time to allow party faithfuls to focus on just a few aspirants as we head towards the primaries in February 2024.
