BPSR bags NITDA’s IT compliant award

The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPRS) has bagged the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Award on Information Technology Clearance compliance.
The award was presented by the Minister of Digital Economy, Prof. Ali Pantami on Wednesday night in Abuja.
Mr Dasuki Arabi, Director-General of BPSR received the award on behalf of the organisation.
Arabi said in an interview on Thursday that the award was a recognition of the Bureau’s effective service delivery.
He said that the Bureau has been pushing the e-government master plan looking to digitise the process of delivering public service.
“The entire strategy is looking at the use of ICT, digitisation and upskilling the public service, so that we’ll be able to render 21st century public service to the citizens of the country,” he added.
Arabi pledged to ensure that all reform initiatives either started by the bureau or other agencies of government were fully implemented.
“Being the vanguard of reforms, we will always make sure that we implement properly to the latter, so that we become point of reference to other ministries, departments and agencies of government.
“Beyond that the urge by the steering committee for the Bureau to continue to do what is right, one other motivating factor has been the buy in we have gotten from the President.
“It is another factor that is pushing us to succeed,” he said.
NITDA also honoured some individuals and organisations on their drive to enhance ICT penetration in the country.
The second and third award in the Information Technology Clearance compliance categories went to NCC, NHIS, respectively.
While Oyo state led in the Most I.T Compliant state ,as Benue came second with Sokoto third.
The NITDA NITDEV Levy Compliance Award went to MTN as GTB followed, amongst other awardees.
NITDA also recognised and honoured staff who had spent 10 to 20 years in service, for their contributions to the development of the Nigerian’s digital economy.

said as the prime driver of I.T development and regulation in Nigeria, the award was to encourage and stimulate growth in the nation’s ICT eco system.
The event was attended by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami and his Gambia counter part, Mr Ousman Bah, as well as the Chairman of NITDA, Dr Abubakar Sa’id, among others.
