APC Governorship candidate in Benue ,Fr Hyacinth Alia has welcomed Sen Oluremi Tinubu the wife of the APC Presidential candidate, who was accompanied by the wife of the Vice Presidential Candidate of APC, Mrs Nana Shettima made donations of five hundred wrappers and Ten Million Naira for two hundred households who are victims of Benue flood.

Sen. Mrs Tinubu on Monday in Benue commiserated with Flood Victims
expressing happiness over the warm reception accorded her by Benue people saying, it is good that the people of Benue State are in high spirit despite their devastation.
Mrs Tinubu attested that “The Bible says when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; righteousness exalts a nation and it’s rather men who fear God like Fr. Alia that are needed in government to change the narrative. Benue needs Father now”.
Sen. Oluremi who described her visit as second home coming, expressed optimism that Benue State will know peace like never before.
She recalled her fond relationship with the people of Benue state, noting that what affects the people also affects her.
She said her visit was not to campaign but to sympathize with those devastated by the floods and expressed optimism that the little relief items made available will provide succour to the victims.
Senator Tinubu further urged those affected by the flood not to be weighed down by the situation but continue to push on.
In his response Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia who was accompanied by his running mate,Hon Sam Ode, also joined the wife of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Sen. Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu in commiserating with the government and people of Benue State over the recent flood that has destroyed houses and rendered many people homeless.
Fr. Alia led the visitors to Government House where they had brief interface with the Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr. Samuel Ortom and his wife, Dr. Mrs Eunice Ortom and later proceeded to Makafa Park where they addressed large number of Benue people.
Fr. Alia bemoaned the level at which communities in Benue State have been submerged by flood and hundreds of thousands of people internally displaced.
He said the choice of Tinubu/Shettima remains the best since we are looking for those who will secure the unity of Nigeria and make development the order of the day.
“We are looking for those who can mend the broken pot; we are looking for those who can help us advance; we are looking for those can secure the unity of Nigeria; we are looking for those who can make development the order of the day, and Jagaban (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) is the spelling of that development”.
Also Governor of Benue, Mr Samuel Ortom thanked the team for the visit.
Ortom on behalf of the Government and people of the State, expressed appreciation to Senator Tinubu for the visit to identify with the flood victims, stating that her visit rekindled hope in those displaced by the flooding.
The Governor then mandated the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, to ensure judicious distribution of the relief materials to only those who have been affected by the flooding.
Earlier in a welcome address, the State Chairman of the APC, Comrade Austin Agada assured Tinubu’s wife of their readiness to deliver Benue State to the party, pointing out the large turn out as evidence for their preparedness.
Others dignitaries on her entourage were the wife of the Governor of Zamfara State, Her Excellency, Aisha Matallawe, and the House of Representatives Candidate of the APC for Gboko/Tarka and wife of the Honourable Minister for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Her Excellency, Mrs Regina Akume amongst others.
