Goska Attack: Jema,a LG chairman caution against reprisals

The chairman Jema’a local government area Hon Peter Danjuma Averik made the appeal during interdenominationa funeral service on Monday in Goska

They chairman was represented at the funeral by the council secretary Hon Amos Samaila

Mr Averik appealed to Goska community in Kaninkon chiefdom and the entire people of the area not to resort to vengeance but to rather allow God’s anger to take its toll on the evil perpetrators.

Accept the incident in good faith and be consoled that the souls of the innocent victims are resting with the Lord. Said Averk

Also speaking, the Tum Ninkyop, His Highness, Tanko Tete represented by the District Head of Kaninkon, Mr Williams Gimba, described the attack as most unfortunate and caution the people against any act of reprisal.

Earlier in his sermon, the pastor in-charge of ECWA Church Ambam, Reverend Yakubu Dubangari advised Christians not to live a careless life but to conduct themselves in ways that are pleasing to God.

Anchoring his message on the theme, hope for believers, Reverend Dubangari admonished that life without Christ is useless and that those who
refused to accept Christ would have no place in God’s kingdom.

He called on Christian to reward evil with love and live peacefully with one another irrespective of their religious affiliation.

It would be recalled that gun men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen laid ambush and killed five persons in Goska community in Jema’a Local Government area on Monday evening while returning from their farms.
