  September 1, 2026.    His Excellency,   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief, Federal Republic of Nigeria, State House, Aso Villa, Abuja, Nigeria.   OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT, THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, ON OPERATION NO IDLE LAND: A CALL FOR A NATIONAL POLICY ON PRODUCTIVE LAND USE AND A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR FOOD SECURITY  Your Excellency, I write with utmost respect and a deep sense of national responsibility to propose the urgent adoption of a transformative national initiative, Operation No Idle Land, alongside the declaration of a State of Emergency for Food Production. Following my appointment as Vice President, Agriculture, of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in December 2023, I have undertaken agricultural study and farm visits to the United States, Canada, Israel and several European countries. The agricultural innovation, mechanization, efficient land utilization and value-chain integration I witnessed were both impressive and instructive. These experiences reinforced my conviction that Nigeria possesses the land, human resources and natural endowments to become one of the world’s leading agricultural economies. What is required is a deliberate and coordinated strategy to convert our agricultural potential into productivity, employment, food security and national prosperity.
