London, UK – The United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has raised serious safety concerns about Nigerian airline Air Peace, accusing it of violating critical safety procedures at London’s Gatwick Airport.

Failure to obtain operational approval for Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) functions, potentially affecting safe aircraft operation
– No mounting device or charging points for EFB, compromising navigation and safety
– Pilots exceeded clearance limits and missed all available runway exits during landing

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has launched an investigation into the allegations, seeking clarification from Air Peace on the reported safety lapses. The UK’s Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) inspection report, dated April 7, 2024, has been forwarded to the NCAA, prompting swift action.

If found guilty, Air Peace faces potential sanctions from the UK authorities, which could impact its operations and reputation. The NCAA will work closely with the UK CAA to ensure any necessary corrective actions are taken to address the reported safety concerns.

According to the regulatory authority this development highlights the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols in the aviation industry, and the collaborative efforts of regulatory bodies to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
