Benue Governor lays foundation for construction of hundred housing units,inspects MDAs

The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, on Tuesday laid the foundation for the construction of hundred housing units to address the housing deficit in the state.

The Governor’s outing marked his first working day in office, while laying the foundation ,Villa De Lia, a luxury apartments said it would help Benue people realize their aspiration for ownership and comfortable living.

Located at Mbangyor Layout, Phase 1 off Gboko Road, Makurdi, the project which contains hundred housing units featuring two, three and four bedroom apartments will be completed in Hundred days.

Governor Alia thanked Riella Properties and Investment Limited for chosen Benue State as a destination ground for investment.

While calling on other investors to come to Benue State, Fr. Alia said the new administration under his leadership would encourage public -private partnership to provide better infrastructure solutions and grow the state economy.

Earlier, the Project Manager, Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime said Villa De Lia is meant to address the housing needs of Benue people.

Highlight of the event was laying of foundation for the construction of the villa by His Excellency, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

Earllier the Gov on an unscheduled visits to Ministries,Departments and Agencies , expressing dismay at the state of infrastructure.

The Governor frawned at the state of decay of infrastructure and unkepmt environment
at the premises of the MDAs.

He however said that the time had come to reform and do the right thing, as due process was to be adhered.

Offices visited included: Office of the Head of Service ,Ministry of Works and Transport and Government Printing/The Voice Newspaper

Others were Ministry of Health ll and Benue State SDG Office .

Also the Ministry of Education, Entrepreneurial Development Centre/Institute for Hospitality Management and the Benue State Planning Commission (NAN)
