A Non-Govermental Organization, HYACINTH ALIA SUPPORT FOUNDATION (HASUF), has assisted the most vulnerable children in public primary schools in Benue State from Ukum and Guma Local Government Areas of the State.
This is contained in a statement by Donald Kumun,
Deputy Director Media (Public Affairs), ALIA/ODE 2023 Governorship Campaign
The Foundation, as part of its humanitarian services, has paid the school fees of 100 vulnerable children from the two local governments, inspired by Fr. Hyacinth Alia’s 32 years of his ministration model in the villages, as well as his selfless services for the less privileged, the helpless people in the society, in all the nook and crannies of the State.
Speaking during the two events, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Lady Susan Achiaga, disclosed that, so far, the organization has distributed more than one thousand exercise books and writting materials to the category of the beneficiaries, whose parents or orphans are not capable of sponsoring them in school.
She explained that the vision of the Foundation which is non-partisan, has a deliberate policy to passionately create a healthy environment for the target beneficiaries, through empowerment programmes, by strengthening, and promoting their wellbeing, with a mandate to also reach out to other people, extensibly in the North Central Zone of Nigeria, and even beyond.
The Executive Director also stated that, the vulnerable children were also tested and treated of malaria cases, given de-warming drugs, health care talks on how to live a healthy life, provided with skin disease treatments through their caregivers, even as two sets of triplets were presented with food items, and special gifts from the foundation.
According to the ED, the outreach is poised to impact on the lives of the children with credence, and compassion.
Responding separately on behalf of the children, two of the parents, Emmanuel Dooga, from Ukum local government, and Sulumshima Awuaga, from Guma local government, thanked the management of the Foundation, and expressed happiness that the organization has identified them in the remote villages to assist them, and prayed God to reward the providers abundantly.
They also expressed happiness that HASUF is reflecting the true image of the reknowned Catholic Priest, whom they said, has been in the trenches with them, and is well known for such humanitarian services.
The organization from its records so far, is bringing glad tidings to the less privileged in the society, with the intention to officially unveil her Mission/Vision, in 2023, to enable her reach out to more vulnerable children in their households, where the poor folks are usually located.
