Benue’ll feed the world if adequately supported, Ortom tells AUDA-NEPAD Boss, Investors*

The Governor of Benue State, HE Governor Samuel Ortom has assured AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria Investors in the Smallholder farmers that with the right support and investment, Benue State is capable of feeding the world.
Governor Ortom made the assertion when he received the AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria Investors led by the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer, AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Princess Gloria Akobundu, fsi, in Benue State Government House, Makurdi today, Thursday 1st December, 2022.
The Governor who was to travel to Rivers State said he shifted his flight to receive the guests to underscore the importance he attached to any project designed to alleviate the condition of his people.
The Governor noted that, the agricultural potential of the state was not in doubt, adding that the state undoubtedly pride itself as the food basket of the Nation.
The governor assured the investors that if they could make good their plans to invest in the state, they would not regret taking the action, saying the state had the potentials to triple their investment.
The National Coordinator in her remark, commended the State Governor for prioritizing the interest of his people by ensuring he received the team personally, adding that the state had continued to improve on its agricultural produce.
She however noted that more should be done in the area of processing.
“This team of investors are serious and ready to invest in the State, provided the State cooperate with them,” she said.
Governor Ortom and his team promised to fully cooperate on the project.
She equally commended the AUDA-NEPAD State Coordinator and her team for making sure that the state keyed into the project, having provided most of the needed requirements for effective take off.
Spades and 3D-AG made presentations of the numerous befits the project could bring to the state when finally implemented.

AUDA-NEPAD will continue to lead the foreign investors to other states earmarked in the pilot scheme of the project prepared for five states in the country.
