The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has called on the people of Benue State to explore collective impact to tackle social problems and rescue Benue from the stronghold of maladministration.
As contained in a statement by Mr Isaac Uzaan,Media Aide to Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Alia,on Friday , Alia made the call while delivering a goodwill message at the ongoing NKST Synod Conference in Mkar, Gboko local government of Benue State.
He bemoaned the depth of poverty in the state and the stifling rule of the PDP, calling on individuals to abandon their individual interest in favour of a collective approach to lift our dear state out of the deeps and write her name among list of developed states in our country.
Fr. Alia who said our food basket has been torn, broken and is now empty, said Benue now carry a dilapidated basket with no food item inside. He called on all people to join hands to fix the state, adding that, by the God’s grace, 2023 will be more than party politics.
The Governorship hopeful finally called on the people to learn and practice the skills of civic participation beginning with voting and moving on to speaking out, and building coalitions to solve problems on the local, state, and even federal levels.
The conference attracted dignitaries including the Chairman of the Benue State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Akpen Leva.
