New CP in Nasarawa State promises robust fight against crime, criminality

Mr Maiyaki Muhammed-Baba, newly Commissioner of Police (CP) in Nasarawa State, has promised to ensure robust fight against criminal elements in the state.
The CP who stated this in a press briefing on Wednesday in Lafia, said personnel would be deployed for full patrol in the nooks and crannies of the state.
Muhammed-Baba commended the efforts being made in the fight against criminality by the immediate past Commissioner, Adesina Soyemi.
“I emphatically want to assure the public that crime will be fought relentlessly and I will continue where my predecessor stopped.
“I will be available at all times for the people of the state to report any criminal activities and I assured that the command will respond promptly,” the CP added.
He said police personnel would occupy all black spots in the state and ensure that criminals find it difficult to operate.
The new Commissioner also appealed to members of the press to give him the necessary support to enable him defeat criminal elements in the state during his tenure.
He advised journalists to report issues concerning the police objectively and carry out proper investigation and get the reaction of the command before publishing.
Muhammed-Baba promised to operate an open-door policy and urged the press as well as the public to get across to him anytime where necessary.
The CP also described the report in some sections of social media that Mr Ari Muhammad, CP of Delta State Command, was kidnapped in Nasarawa State as fake.
He called on the public to disregard such news in its entirety, as the CP  of Delta State Command who is from Nasarawa State is in his office and he spoke with him.
