History may repeat itself in Taraba State following the rekindling of the long time rivalry and unending crisis between two All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship aspirants, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and a philanthropist Chief David Sabo Kente, popularly known as DSK which was kindled by the party state Chairman
Except the national leadership of APC urgently steps in to correct the anomaly ahead the party Congress’ the crisis may thwart the party chances to wrestled power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
The Titanic crisis that has erupted between Chief David Sabo Kente Supporters and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha men was as a result of the smuggling and inauguration of Bwacha loyalist as local party executives by the Taraba State APC Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Elsudi Tukur.
The Chairman, on Friday inaugurated four splinter chairmen in Takum, Wukari, USSA and Ibi local government areas to replace those elected in the last conventions.
This has spark off fresh crisis in the party which many opined if not properly handled may spell doom for the party in the forthcoming elections.
Reacting, Alhaji Abba Akawu, Chairman of the David Sabo Kente (DSK) gubernatorial campaign organisation said that the inauguration of the splinter group was unacceptable and urged the National Secretariat of the party to revert to status quo.
Akawu during a press briefing in Jalingo on Sunday advised the National Chairman of the party to call Alhahi Ibrahim El-Sudi, to order and warn him against dancing to the dictates of some desperate individuals and money bags who wish to clinch the ticket of the party through the windows.
“We therefore, call on the national secretariat of our great party to urgently address this travesty before it causes great damage to the party in the state and ruin our chances of achieving our set goals, especially ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“I have invited you here today to brief you on the action taken yesterday by the Taraba state APC chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur ElSudi where he appointed and inaugurated a splinter four APC local government chairmen for Takum, Ussa, Ibi and Wukari local government areas in the state.
“It is appaling as those who were legitimately elected and inaugurated along side their counterparts in other local government areas and the same process that brought in the subsisting state Executives are still in office.
“This action has necessitated this briefing today and we vehemently oppose the unilateral decision of the state APC Chairman Alhaji ElSudi.
“It is on record that the splinter local government Chairmen that were inaugurated yesterday were never elected by the Congress of the party and can not stand as Local Government party Chairmen of these local government areas.
The implications of what transpired yesterday has not only invalidated the ELSudi led exco as the Chairmen he is trying to set aside came on board through the same process that brought him and the state Executive to power.
“For this, he has also opened windows for litigations and agitations that could have far reaching consequences for the party.
“This means whatever elections conducted with these new set of unelected and illegitimate officials can be challenged in the court of law and nullified,’ he said.
Akawu disclosed that the action of the state Chairman has generated tension in the southern Taraba and called on APC supporters to remain calm be law abiding as something is being done to correct the abnormality.
The State Chairman of the APC earlier inaugurated four out of five council chairmen of the party from southern Taraba region with the exception of that of Donga local government who was equally elected jointly.
Aluta News reports that prior to decamping of Senator Bwacha into APC few months ago, Kente was the life wire single handedly financing the party activities especially in southern Taraba
