The Nasarawa State Government has tasked public office holders and civil servants to comply with assets declaration as required by the constitution.

Dr Emmanuel Akabe, the state Deputy Governor, gave the task while playing host to the staff of the state Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) led by their Director, Mrs Hadiza Mohammed, in Lafia on Tuesday.

He noted that the CCB was established by the Federal Government to ensure that public officers maintain high standard of morality in the public service.

Akabe pledged that the state government would partner with the bureau to ensure smooth operation.

The deputy governor however urged the CCB to step up awareness campaign on its activities.

Earlier, the state director of the bureau had commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration for ensuring peace and security in the state.

Mohammed expressed concern over low compliance by public officers in the state in assets declaration and urged government to adopt measures that would ensure that public officers complied with the constitutional obligation.
