Kaduna taps renowned child welfare advocate to drive gender and social inclusion agenda

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of celebrated humanitarian, Aisha Yunusa Adamu, as Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Women Affairs, with effect from April 30th, 2026.
The appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Mayere.
According to the government, the appointment was “based on her wealth of experience, good track record of performance and keen interest shown in the positive development of the state.”
Aluta News reports that Aisha Adamu is widely known in Kaduna and beyond for her tireless work with motherless and abandoned children. She has also been at the forefront of rehabilitating women in dire need, earning her a reputation as a humanitarian of repute.
Her interventions have made her highly respected among residents, civil society groups, and government stakeholders across the state.
The appointment letter was formally presented to her by the Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani.
With the new role, Adamu is expected to bring her grassroots experience to bear in shaping policies, programmes, and advocacy that advance women’s welfare, protection of vulnerable children, and inclusive development in Kaduna State.
