Kano, Aug. 29, 2026 The Kano State Sharia Commission, has commenced a two-day training for Islamic scholars from the 44 Local Government Areas in the state to promote peace and unity.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the training is: “The Impact of Unity Among Da’awah Organisations on the Spread of Islam in the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State.”
Speaking at the event on Saturday, the Executive Chairman of the Sharia Commission, Sheikh Abbas Abubakar-Daneji, said the training would educate Da’awah scholars on the use of modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to deliver Islamic messages more easily and effectively.
This, According to him, will enable scholars to learn new approaches to carrying out their activities, as well as gain a better understanding of constitutional provisions relating to Da’awah activities.
“Preaching should take into consideration security situations and encourage peace among individuals and groups towards ensuring cordial relationships among citizens.
“Scholars should try as much as possible to avoid messages that can create or cause division, confusion and chaos in society,” he said.
Abubakar-Daneji said it was important to create unity among Da’awah organisations, strengthen the spread of Islam, and promote peaceful coexistence in the state.
On his part, the Commissioner of the Sharia Commission, Malam Ali Dan’Abba, said the gathering would foster greater understanding, cooperation and unity among various Da’awah organisations in the state.
He urged Islamic preachers to ensure that their teachings promote peace, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among members of the public.
Dan’Abba called on Islamic scholars and preachers to use their platforms to educate the public on the values of peace, mutual respect and responsible religious conduct.
He said the government would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting religious harmony among residents of Kano.
The commissioner expressed optimism that the workshop would lead to a more coordinated approach to Islamic propagation across the state.
One of the scholars, who spoke on behalf of others, Abdullahi Musa, thanked the commission for the training and vowed to use the knowledge gained judiciously.
