Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, popularly known as Fr. Ebube Muonso, has marked his 15th anniversary in the Catholic priesthood, reflecting on his years of service, faith and humanitarian interventions.
The anniversary celebration, held at the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra State, provided an opportunity for the cleric to express gratitude to God for sustaining him throughout his priestly journey.
Fr. Ebube Muonso also acknowledged the guidance and support of the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, whom he described as a father and shepherd who had consistently guided and corrected him whenever necessary.
He prayed for God to continue to strengthen the Archbishop and grant him wisdom and grace in leading the faithful.
Speaking on his humanitarian activities, Fr. Ebube Muonso disclosed that thousands of people are currently benefiting from his scholarship scheme.
He said education remained a powerful instrument for transforming lives and creating opportunities for people who might otherwise be unable to achieve their aspirations.
The priest also announced that about ₦100 million had been earmarked for a medical outreach as part of efforts to extend his humanitarian work to people in need.
Sponsors Patients Receiving Treatment in India
Fr. Ebube Muonso further revealed that he was personally sponsoring two patients undergoing medical treatment in India.
According to him, the initiative forms part of his broader commitment to assisting people facing serious health challenges.
He added that he also provides monthly financial support to elderly people in Nkwelle Ezunaka to help them meet some of their basic needs and live with greater dignity.
The cleric disclosed that he had initially planned a low-key approach to his 15th priestly anniversary.
He said the volume of congratulatory messages, surprises and goodwill gestures from people, however, eventually made it difficult to ignore the milestone.
He recalled, among the gestures, a woman who prepared food for people in celebration of the anniversary, describing such acts as evidence of the affection and appreciation people have for his ministry.
Also speaking at the celebration, Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Ikezue expressed joy over the anniversary and described Fr. Ebube Muonso as a mentor.
He prayed for God’s continued strength, grace and protection for the celebrant while commending his contributions to the Church and society.
The 15th anniversary celebration therefore served not only as a commemoration of Fr. Ebube Muonso’s years in the priesthood but also as an opportunity to highlight his humanitarian initiatives in education, healthcare and support for the elderly.
As he begins another chapter of his priestly ministry, the cleric reaffirmed his commitment to touching lives and serving humanity, guided by his faith and what he described as the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
